Care at Jermyn Chiropractic
Care for every stage of life
At Jermyn Chiropractic, we are proud to say that we have whole families as patients from newborns, babies, infants and young children, to teens, young adults, expectant mums, grandparents and great-grandparents! No matter how young or old you are, you can still benefit from Chiropractic care.
Assessment & Diagnosis
What is important for all patients is to have an accurate diagnosis made of their complaint, and assess if this complaint/condition can be Chiropractically treated. Only after this assessment, and a mechanical or neuromusculoskeletal pain is diagnosed, will we discuss a treatment plan that is optimal for your relief of pain.
Relieving Pain & Restoring Function
Our focus is on getting you out of pain first, and then restoring full functional and mechanical mobility to your structure. It is also important to recognise that joint pain can arise from a variety of causes affecting not only the joint itself but the surrounding structures – such as ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia as well.
Evidence-Based Chiropractic Care
All treatments are centered on evidence-based Chiropractic treatment, and integrates the identification and diagnosis ofthe primary condition that has become mechanically dysfunctional. This dysfunction then needs to be treated along with contributing factors such as poor spinal and joint mechanics, poor posture, repetitive biomechanical injuries, incorrect poor sporting mechanics, undertraining or overtraining.
What to Expect from Chiropractic
1. Your First Visit
If you have never visited a Chiropractor before, at your initial consultation we will carry out a full assessment of your health and presenting symptoms.
You will be asked about any concerns or symptoms you have, along with your significant medical history.
2. Thorough Examination
All patients will undergo a thorough examination – (Orthopaedic and Neurological) of your posture, spine, joints and muscles, which will indicate any dysfunctional/problematic areas.
3. Patient Education
Patient education is the key to getting better quicker. After this initial assessment and examination, patients will leave the practice with a full understanding of the potential causes contributing to the problems they have been experiencing.
4. Treatment Options
Patients will also be educated on the types of treatment options they may have that would benefit them the most, and patients will be able to make their own decision regarding an agreed treatment plan.
5. Personalised Treatment Plan
Treatment plans are specific to each patient and will include adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and guidance on exercises/rehabilitation.
6. Follow-Up & Maintenance
Fewer problems are likely with regular maintenance checks by a family Chiropractor so that any minor problems can be corrected before they become major ones .
